Working time

Working time, without tables to maintain.

Clocking and working time management software for SMEs: hour tracking, holidays and absences, balances.

Workin calculates targets, balances and holidays according to each employee's terms. You see where everyone stands, with no formulas to maintain.

Solo free, no credit card. For a team: 30-day trial, no commitment.

Team hours in Workin over one week, with holidays and variance per employee.

Clocking must stay simple.

Your team starts the timer, takes a break, resumes and ends the day. A forgotten entry is fixed with a manual entry.

  • Timer with break and resume
  • Manual entry and correction
  • On computer or phone
  • Reminder for a forgotten timer

Workin never stops a forgotten timer. The employee is notified, then administration if nothing changes: they set the right end time.

Workin clocking screen: stopwatch running on a task, with client and project.

Each employee has their own rhythm.

You set the expected hours for each day of the week. This grid sets the target, including for part-time work.

  • Different durations depending on the day
  • Non-working days
  • Monthly salary or hourly pay
  • Arrival or departure during the month

A move from 100 % to 80 % on 1 July? Add a period with the new grid: past months keep their earlier terms.

Holidays and absences in one place.

Your employees submit their requests in Workin. You approve, the holiday balance updates and the calendar shows who is absent.

  • Requests and approval, with notification
  • Holiday balance always up to date
  • Sickness, accident, unpaid leave and other types
  • Supporting documents attached to the request
  • Public holidays imported by country and region

  • Monthly and annual views
  • Automatic carry-over to the following year
  • Overtime with time off or payment (Pro plan)
  • Statements in PDF and Excel

Keep a clear view of your team.

See who is working, since when, who is on a break or absent. The Hours view shows each person's week and flags missing days.

  • Live presence
  • Team hours per day, week or month
  • Missing days flagged
  • Excel export for the period

Once validated, the month is locked.

An option to enable depending on your organisation.

1

The employee validates

They confirm that their month's hours are complete.

2

Administration checks

An administrator or manager reviews the month, then locks it or returns it.

3

The month is locked

The employee can no longer change it. To correct it, unlock it, then lock it again.

Each step is recorded in a log, included in the PDF statement.

The rules behind the timer.

Workin knows the Swiss break rules and applies them to the time clocked. You can adapt them to your convention or your country.

Your choice: a warning visible to administration, or automatic deduction of the missing break.

From 5 h 30 of work15 min
From 7 h of work30 min
From 9 h of work60 min

Swiss rules pre-filled, editable by the company.

And if you want to know where these hours go?

The same timer can split the day between your clients and projects, with no second entry.

Frequently asked questions

Does Workin suit part-time work?

Yes. You enter the expected hours for each day, which covers both 80 % over four days and shortened days. The activity rate is shown for information: the hours grid sets the target.

Can we manage people paid by the hour?

Yes. With an hourly contract, Workin accumulates the clocked hours, with no target or balance. The monthly statement can serve as a basis for administration.

Does Workin replace payroll software?

No. Workin counts time and produces statements in PDF and Excel. Salary calculation remains in your payroll software or with your fiduciary.

Are working time rules the same in every country?

No. Public holidays are imported by country and region, and the Swiss break rules are pre-filled. For another country, you adapt the break rules yourself.
